Orange Trees Planted In Front Of Ayuntamiento Building

Latest News Friday 20th of December 2013

Calle CarmenEight new orange trees have been planted in Calle Carmen in front of the Ayuntamiento offices in Nerja as part of the improvement works that are currently being carried out. The two existing ficus trees (rubber plant) will be replanted elsewhere and new street furniture will also be installed as part of the €60,000 works.

The street runs from the Balcon de Europa to Plaza España passing under the council offices. As well as a few small shops and restaurants, the Nerja Tourist Information office is on this street and it is the only section in the immediate area that hasn’t been pedestrianised in the works that have taken place over the past few years.

As well as replacing the drains and other services, the road will be paved to the same standard as the surrounding pedestrianised streets.

The street gives access to the Balcon de Europa from the underground car park at Plaza España and as such is used by many visitors to the town.
