Nerja Council has started removing the marble blocks from Plaza Cavana after requests from local people. The blocks prevent cars and delivery vehicles from parking on the pedestrian area, but according to the Councillor for Infrastructure Antonio García, can be a trip-hazard to pedestrians, as they can be difficult to spot if you are not paying attention.
The council says they will replace the blocks with bollards, similar to the ones on Calle Pintada and that they will re-use the blocks elsewhere in Nerja.
