A 19 year old hiker was rescued last Sunday by members of the Civil Protection in Nerja and the local fire brigade after an accident while walking in an area near the source of the Rio Chillar.
The Civil Protection team received a call around 5pm warning that the local young man, identified as DOH, had fallen at the top of the river and had injured his ankle, preventing him from walking.
The rescue team had to walk for about 40 minutes to reach the injured youth, who was then transferred to the medical centre in Nerja where he received treatment at around 11pm.
