A total of 137 people took part in Sunday’s environmental awareness campaign held at Maro beach. Activities including kayaking and snorkelling were on offer free of charge, under supervision of volunteers, designed to highlight the rich natural heritage of the Andalucian coast and the importance of its conservation.
The programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and aims to promote sustainable management of natural resources whilst encouraging new economic development.
The event followed on from a similar one held the day before at the Marina de Este and also at Cantarriján and Canuelo beaches in the Maro Cerro-Gordo natural park, just to the east of Nerja.
