Events for this years International Women’s Day in Nerja start on Thursday March the 6th with a performance at the Nerja Cultural Centre of the musical “Con voz de mujer” at 7pm. Entrance is free until full.
On Saturday the 8th of March at midday there will be an official ceremony in the chamber of the town hall where a manifesto for equality will be read out. At 5.30pm there will be a demonstation of the municipal workshops and tea in the Sala Mercado.
Internation Women’s Day events will conclude on Sunday the 9th of March at midday with the 4th Walk For Equality (Caminata por la Igualdad) over a 3km route – departing from Plaza de España then around the following streets: Carmen, Cavana, Diputación, Castilla Pérez, Los Cangrejos, Torrecilla, El Chucho, Rivera del Río Chillar, Verano Azul, San Miguel, Cantarero, Pintada, Balcón de Europa and Plaza de España.
The walk is open to everybody from all ages and those taking part are invited to donate a kilo of food for the charity Cáritas.
