The children’s theatre company “La Carpa Teatro” will be taking local schoolchildren on a Journey To The Beginning Of Time at the Nerja Caves to show how Nerja’s earliest residents lived in prehistoric times. The 25 year old theatre company will be putting on the show tomorrow 2nd of May.

According to La Carpa, two visitors and a few intrepid explorers will lead the audience on a voyage of discovery to the beginning of time, in an entertaining and interactive show explaining how they discovered the Caves, how they prepared their meals, how they painted the caves and how they buried their dead. The production will also show the early settlers discovering, handling and trying to understand a series of modern everyday objects which we take for granted in the 21st century. The script has been overseen by the curator of the Caves and the scientists from the Caves Foundation Research Department.

At the end of the show the visitors will also be able to visit the public areas of the caves and will take part in various workshops including painting and make up and will finish off with a “trogolodyte party”.

125 school children are booked in for tomorrow’s performance. For more information about future dates email teatrolacarpa@teatrolacarpa.com or phone 952 54 56 12.
