This year’s Chestnut and Sweet Potato Fiesta, also known as Maroween, will take place as usual on October the 31st, Halloween night. The festival opens on Saturday the 31st at 11am in Calle Real where there will be a street market.
The entertainment starts at 5.30pm by the church and the roast chestnuts and sweet potatoes make an appearance at 8.30pm.
A special bus service will run from 6pm to 2am between Nerja an Maro on the Saturday.
On Sunday there will be paella at 2pm and tarot readers and fortune tellers will be on hand for those who want to learn what the future holds for them (unless cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances).

Maro is a small village a few kilometres along the coast from Nerja and is easily reached by bus or taxi or even on foot.
