A new information office for visitors has opened underneath Nerja town hall. Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo has described this new office as an “important shopwindow” for the Nerja Caves and Museum, being in a “strategic” location between the Balcon de Europa and Plaza de España which is a “passageway used by many people, especially tourists, who are going to be attracted by the great photograph of the caves”. The eye-catching photo of the caves runs the full length of the office and is bound to attract the attention of passers-by.
The mayor added that “now more than ever, in these times of crisis, we must welcome tourism with that smile that once characterised us”, not forgetting “the attention and friendliness because every day we are operating in an increasingly competitive environment.” He finished by saying that the Caves Foundation and the council were taking “a step clearly in favour of tourism and culture”.
Afterwards the new office was opened by the Nerja Caves Foundation President Jorge Hernández Mollar and José Alberto Armijo, in the presence of the manager of the caves Angel Ruiz.
The new office is next door to the Costa del Sol Tourist Office Nerja and opposite the Nerja Tourist Office.
