The beach libraries at Burriana and Torrecilla are celebrating 10 years of loaning books to thousands of beach goers.

The Beach Libraries are open from 11.30am to 7.30 pm during the summer months, and have a variety of children’s and young people’s books to loan with themes ranging from science fiction to romance, to classic novels, poetry, philosophy, health, nature, comics, and so on. In addition there are newspapers, magazines and tourist information leaflets and beach toys for children.

The books are in Spanish but also in other languages such as English, French, German, and Italian. Visitors can also donate their own books when they have finished with them, so that they may be read by others.

To borrow a book you will need your library card or an identity card, such as a passport. The libraries are located on the promenade behind the beaches and are small blue and white kiosks as pictured.
