On Tuesday the 28th of February 2017, Nerja’s streets will again be taken over by bicycles for the annual Dia Del Pedal (Day of the Pedal). The event, which takes place every year on Andalucia day will see thousands of cyclists crammed into the narrow roads, slowly making their way around the town.
The start and finish is on the Balcon de Europa, setting off at around midday. This is a spectacle well worth watching, but be aware if you intend to take part, the route is very slow and overcrowded, with several enforced stops along the way, making the Dia del Pedal one long sardine tin on wheels.
You can register to take part in the event at the start line on the Balcon de Europa before 11.30am.
