This years Dia del Turista takes place on Tuesday 3rd September 2013 at 9pm on the Balcon de Europa with flamenco from the Elena dance acadamy, followed by the Paris Cabaret company with their musical “Tribute To Moulin Rouge”. The day will end with fireworks.
The Nerja singer Nuria Fergó will be named Nerja’s Honourary Ambassador in a ceremony to be held in the town hall at midday. Others to have been honoured in this way have been Miguel Joven (from TVs Verano Azul), the singer Antonio Cortés, and Francisco Ortega “Ayo” of Ayos restaurant fame.
The titles awarded of Tourist of Honour and Honourary Ambassdor alternate each year and last year Pastora Soler was officially named Tourist of Honour 2012. Pastora Soler was Spain’s entry in that years Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in 10th place with “Quédate conmigo”.
