From Saturday 3rd September visitors to Nerja will be able to join in official guided tours of the town.
The Nerja Department for Tourism will be running the tours using official guides, and participants will be taken around the historic areas of the towns. The guides will give information on the history of Nerja, both ancient and modern, and explain the significance of the Muslim and Christian eras for the town, the importance of tourism in recent decades, and point out the historic buildings.
Those taking part will also find out about local crafts and gastronomy, and the wonderful national parks that surround Nerja.
At the end of the tour, which lasts about 2 hours, everyone will receive a drink and a tapa at a local bar.
The first guided tour takes place at 11am on Saturday 3rd September and is free , with subsequent tours costing €10 for adults and €5 for children between 8 and 12 years old.
