Sandra Jimena (Councillor for Popular Traditions), has unveiled the “júa” (guy) that is to be burned at the stake on the night of San Juan (tomorrow Saturday 23rd June 2012) at Burriana beach.
The júa named “Damned Crisis” is a cardboard sculpture made by Rehak Amador, a film special effects coordinator.
The festivities will start at 10pm with live music from Alalba. At midnight the bonfire will be lit, fireworks will be set off and the guy will be burned. As well as being a huge beach party, many people will camp overnight on the beach, as this is the only night of the year that this is allowed.
On El Playazo beach camping is allowed from the 22nd to 24th. The councillor has also asked people to respect the beach rules.
