Sierra NevadaThe Sierra Nevada ski resort in Granada, is to open this Saturday 23rd of November 2013, one week earlier than planned, due to the early snow fall. Experts will decide tomorrow exactly what size area will be open to the public and there will be special offer prices during this first week of €25 for adults and €10 for children (under 12).

Last year the resort opened at the end of November, two days earlier than planned, with a total of 11.5km of runs (out of the 100km) open.

The Sierra Nevada Ski Resort in Granada Province is less than two hours drive from Nerja and is the best and largest ski resort in Spain. Sierra Nevada, which hosted the 1996 world Championships, has over a 100km of pistes ranging from the impossibly steep World Cup Downhill runs to a huge selection of easy learner pistes.

If you don’t want to ski, you can also take a day trip up there to have a wander round the picturesque snow covered landscape.
