Students from the Spanish Naval Academy had a tour around the town and the Nerja Caves yesterday accompanied by tour guide and star of TV’s Verano Azul, Miguel Joven. The cadets are training on the Strategic Projection Vessel Juan Carlos 1, currently visiting Malaga port, before heading on to the Spanish enclave of Melilla on the north coast of Morocco this weekend.
The cadets are first, second and third year students who will become sub-lieutenants in the Spanish Navy with a degree in mechanical engineering on graduation.
As well as a tour of the town and the Nerja caves, the group were also officially welcomed by Nerja’s Mayor José Alberto Armijo, who took them to the Balcon de Europa (pictured).
