On Thursday Burriana beach was the scene for the sixth Laboratorio Marino Itinerante (Traveling Marine Laboratory) a joint venture between Nerja council and Unicaja bank’s social foundation.
With the title of “Conservation of the flora and fauna of the Andalucian coastline” the laboratory hosted various activities for the mainly young beachgoers, such as identifying coastal invertebrates and workshops on conservation of the marine environment.
According to Nerja’s councillor for beaches, Nieves Atencia, the object of the exercise is to improve knowledge of the marine environment on this part of the coast, to promote its conservation. She thanked the director of the Aula de Mar Juan Jesús Bellido for organising the event in Nerja and also Unicaja’s foundation for their support.
