The XXVIII Nerja Christmas Mile athletics meeting will be held on Saturday (22nd December), starting at 4.30pm. The start/finish line is on the Balcon de Europa, with races being held until 6pm. At 5.25pm the VI “Siempre en forma” walking race will be held. This sporting event, has become a Christmas classic in Nerja with hundreds of people taking part and large numbers of spectators watching.
The winners of each of the 24 categories, from the 5 year olds right through to the over 65’s, will be awarded with a ham for their efforts. Plus the top three in each category will get a trophy. There will also be a special prize of €100 for anyone who breaks the all time record.
There will also be medals for all of the youngest competitors and a ham will be raffled amonst all the participants.
For entrants to the caminata, there will be raffle of Christmas items and yet another ham.
Entrance fees are €1 for the youngest competitors, and €2 for the 16 year olds and up.
