Local Amenities & NerjaThe apartment is only a few minutes walk from Burriana Beach. This beach is wide and sandy with safe bathing for all the family. It is lined with bars and restaurants, including the famous Ayo’s which offers fresh paella every day, cooked in huge pans over a wood fire. From the beach you can take part in many watersports, including kayaking, paragliding and diving. There is a small supermarket near to the beach and only 15 metres away is the Spanish run ‘Estrella Del Mar’, where you can get drinks, snacks and ice cream during the summer months. Nerja town centre, a 10 to 15 minute walk away, has 8 beaches, many with the Blue Flag award, and the unspoilt Spanish town retains its charm, particularly in the old quarter with its narrow streets and traditional tapas bars. The famous Balcon De Europa, with its incredible panoramic views, is the focal point of Nerja and cannot be missed. For shopping Calle Pintada is the main destination, and a weekly outdoor market is held on Tuesdays. Festivals take place throughout the year and are always a highlight for those in Nerja at the time. As a base for touring the eastern Costa Del Sol Nerja is perfect. Malaga is only an hour away by car, Granada a couple of hours and the beautiful inland mountains and villages on the doorstep.
