Local Amenities & NerjaPunta Lara is an attractive modern urbanisation built in traditional Spanish style with whitewashed buildings set in beautifully landscaped streets and gardens. The urbanisation offers visitors shops, bars and restaurants and communal pools as well as fabulous views of the Mediterranean and the nearby mountains. The nearest beach is ‘Playazo’, a 5 to 10 minute walk from the townhouse. There are several beach front restaurants and bars here and it is the longest beach in Nerja. You can walk along the beach to reach the town of Nerja or catch a bus on the main road below Punta Lara. Nerja town centre has 8 beaches, many with the Blue Flag award, and the unspoilt Spanish town retains its charm, particularly in the old quarter with its narrow streets and traditional tapas bars. The famous Balcon De Europa, with its incredible panoramic views, is the focal point of Nerja and cannot be missed. For shopping Calle Pintada is the main destination, and a weekly outdoor market is held on Tuesdays. Festivals take place throughout the year and are always a highlight for those in Nerja at the time. As a base for touring the eastern Costa Del Sol Nerja is perfect. Malaga is only an hour away by car, Granada a couple of hours and the beautiful inland mountains and villages on the doorstep.
