The weather forecasters got it right and rain has been falling today in Nerja, vindicating the organisers decision to postpone Residents Day until next Sunday (6th May).
Bad weather also caused last years Residents Day to be postponed, although on that occasion the weather turned out well, without the forecast rain.
This weekend is also a “puente” (bridge) holiday with a bank holiday on Tuesday (May 1st), meaning that many people will have taken Monday off as well, giving a four day holiday.
The weather is set to improve on Tuesday, so at least visitors will have good driving conditions on the way home.
So far today, nearly 10mm of rain has fallen which is almost half an inch, with more rain looking likely this afternoon.
