It’s Fabrica Rock Festival time again on May 20th. This is the 5th event and this year is being organised by the recently formed ‘Nerja en Directo’ group which aims to offer encouragement and support to musicians in the Nerja area.
As usual the festival is taking place at the Chaparil school on Calle Antonio Ferrandis Chanquete. Confirmed acts are L.A. Cría, La Vihen Zanta, Dover Pig, GDM, Nación Zero y La Vigilia. The event starts at 1pm and there will be more information on the bands coming soon. Last year it was supposed to be an outdoor gig but rain drove it inside and I am not sure what the plans are for 2012.
Entry is €5 in advance and €6 on the door, which includes paella.
There are not many opportunities for these bands to gig in their home town, nor for fans of rock music to see bands in Nerja who write and perform their own songs. This year’s festival should be the best yet, so keep May 20th free, get down to the Chaparil school, and enjoy the music.
