Moonlight Beddgelert
The Nerja Decorative and Fine Art Society are presenting a lecture on Tuesday January 10th on the subject of the painter David Bomberg. The event takes place at the Cultural Centre on Calle Granada at 6pm.
David Bomberg lived from 1890 to 1957 and although a part of the futurist movement in his early career his experiences in the trenches during the 1st World War led him to reject the enthusiasm for mechanisation that followed. He spent the rest of his life attempting to make his stark pre-war style more rounded and organic, turning to landscapes and portraits for inspiration.
The lecture will be given by Alan Read and non members are welcome to attend on payment of a €10 visitor fee.
