Carabeo Beach lies at the bottom of a steep flight of steps, and this is the only access unless you are taking the offically closed coast path. The steps begin at a viewpoint along Calle Carabeo.
The beach itself is in a natural bay and is quite private, as much of it is hidden from above by vegetation and cliffs. The facilities are basic but adequate for an enjoyable spot of sunbathing. There are toilets and showers and during the holiday season a lifeguard watches over the beach, and a kiosk sells refreshments.
There is a path just above the beach where the kiosk can be found, and also a couple of benches to sit on if you just want to watch the sea or take time out from the sand.
