El Chucho Beach in Nerja is located between Torrecilla Beach to the east and El Playazo beach to the west. The beach has sun loungers for hire, showers and toilets, plus food and drinks are available from the Perla Marina hotel.
The beach is bounded by the mouth of the Rio Chillar on its westerm side and so has no protection from storms during the winter months. For this reason the beach often loses much of its sand, revealing the rocks underneath and leaving only a thin strip at the top for the sun loungers.
The recently completed El Chucho promenade connects up to the river path at the Rio Chillar, and both are very popular as a place to go for a stroll or a bike ride in the evenings.
There is limited free parking on the streets behind the beach.
