An 84 year old man died on Friday when he was hit by a vehicle which was reversing down the street where he lived. The accident happened at around 2pm in an alleyway off Chaparil (near to the Supersol). The emergency services attended the scene of the accident but were unable to save the life of the victim.
The dead man was named as Francisco Rivas Guidet, who was a founder of the local branch of the Partido Popular political party and was well known in Nerja.
