Today is the second part of the Spanish Traffic Department’s operación salida in which they are predicting that over 8 million cars will take to the roads as the Spanish set off on their Easter break, in the busiest day so far this year. In total over 14 million cars are expected to be on the roads over the Easter period, with the bulk of the journies being undertaken over the next 24 hours.

The police will be out in force on the roads over this period, with extra speeding and alcohol checks.

Hotels are forecasting that they will have 80% occupancy rates over the Easter period and here in Nerja visitor numbers are noticeably higher than in the preceding weeks.
