Nerja Town Hall has approved the budget for 2011 amounting to 22.6 million euros, representing 4.64% less than last year.

The fiscal year runs from January to December so Councillor of Finance, Antonio Villa Clara explained that the budget includes investment projects started this year, amounting to a total of 4.2 million euros, giving an actual budget of 26.8 million euros. The councillor said the next fiscal year is based, as in previous years, on “spending restraint and austerity”.

The councillor emphasized the reduction of salaries to public and political groups as part of these austerity measures and highlighted the “good financial position” of the town, with positive net savings of 857,621 euros.
