In July Nerja celebrates the day of the Virgen Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen and sailors. This weekend the Brotherhood of the Virgen del Carmen were presented with a giant cake in the shape of an anchor in honour of the saint.
The choir “El Sarao” performed and afterwards those present were able to sample the cake with cups of chocolate. The Carmen cakes will be on sale in local bakeries next month.
