Local singer Antonio Cortés will be performing at this years Nerja Feria and is also the official ‘pregonero’ (town crier) of the festival.
Antonio Cortés was born in Romania but has lived almost his whole life in Nerja after being adopted as a baby. He came to public attention after winning the TV talent show Se llama copla, which promotes traditional forms of singing and song writing. A copla is a poetic verse sung to music, often accompanied by just a single flamenco guitar, and is an important part of Spanish folk music.
As well as performing at the 2008 Nerja Feria, Antonio Cortés has also appeared live at the Nerja Caves Festival (as shown on the video), and has performed at many other events over the years in Nerja.
Tickets for his performance will cost €15 on the day (October 12th), or €12 if purchased in advance.
