This evening’s Virgen del Carmen procession stayed firmly on dry land, as large waves prevented her from taking to the water and making the journey from Torrecilla beach to Calahonda by boat. Instead the procession went back the way it came, along the streets of Nerja.
Crowds lined the route of the procession and the seafront at Torrecilla was packed with spectators. When the Carmen returned to the crowded Balcon a lengthy firework display brought the procession to a close.
