The whole of the southern most coast of Spain, from Huelva in the west to Almeria in the east, are on yellow alert due to high winds and strong waves. In the Cadiz region the yellow alert includes the risk of storms with heavy rain forecast. In Malaga the yellow alert warns of heavy sea conditions, and in Nerja winds of up to 23 mph are forecast during the day, with large waves (pictured).

In Cadiz and the areas around the straights of Gibraltar winds of up to 60 mph are forecast.

Throughout Spain a total of 12 provinces are on yellow alert, including the Canary Islands. In the north of Spain there is snow on the mountains above 1500m. In the Sierra Nevada ski resort to the north of Nerja, there is a very small amount of snow above the 2600m level.
