Maro beach has finished in second place in Spanish Television’s Antena 3 poll to find the best beach in Spain, coming just 3,000 votes behind the ultimate winner La Granadella beach in Jávea, Alicante, which also won last years competition. Third place went to Cala Macaralleta in Minorca in Spain’s Balearic islands.
The competition started in June and Maro beach was voted best beach in Andalucia in July. The poll was run on Antena 3’s website and also via twitter and Maro went through to the final in August, against the 11 winners from all the other regions in Spain.
In last place in the poll, is La Hípica beach in Melilla.
