The privately owned car park between, calles Carabeo and Los Huertos in Nerja, has agreed to issue residents parking permits at a reduced price. The permits were available when the pay car park first opened at €20 a month in the winter, and €40 in the summer, but the owners stopped issuing them.
After an intervention by Nerja’s mayor, José Alberto Armijo, the car park owners have agreed to start issuing the permits once more, given the difficulties faced by local residents in finding parking in the area.
The car park was free for many years, but became a pay car park at the end of 2011. The car park is also used as the site for the annual Nerja Feria, which takes place in October.
