Nerja Council are carrying out resurfacing work on opposite sides of the town, in a project costing just over €20,000.

The two roads being resurfaced are; Avenida de Chimenea, which runs down from the main road through town, to the eastern end of Burriana beach, and separately, the access road that runs from the Marinas de Nerja hotel down to El Playazo beach by the Rio Seco.

Both of these roads were in a very poor state of repair and overdue for remedial work.

The council have also re-paved Pasaje Chaparil in the town centre (opposite the Supersol supermarket) and installed new lights and bollards to prevent parked cars from blocking the road. The total cost of this work was €25,000.
