The highlight of Friday’s Feria was the grand parade of floats that carried the Queen and Knight of Nerja Feria 2012 around town. Although smaller than in previous years due to the crisis, the parade was full of colour, horses, marching bands and flamenco dresses. The day was a national holiday in Spain and the streets, bars and restaurants of Nerja were crowded with visitors and locals. The rain that the weather forecast was threatening failed to materialise and instead there was a mixture of cloud and sun with a maximum of 25ºC.
