The enormously popular Spanish TV programme Comando Actualidad has been broadcasting a special summer version during July and August called Comando al Sol travelling around Spain reporting from the most attractive summer locations in the country.
As part of this tour, the producers called in to Nerja in July (2013), filming in different parts of the town including the Nerja Caves in which the presenter of the programme put on climbing gear to ascend the Altas Gallery. Interviews were also filmed with the men who discovered the caves in 1959 and filming also took place on the Balcon de Europa and Burriana beach inlcuding an obligatory visit to Ayo’s restuarant to see the paella cooking on the beach.
The fifteen minute report, which was broadcast on Spain’s national TV channel TVE1 on the 7th of August 2013, can be seen in full in the video above.
