Iguana NerjaNerja’s local police force captured an iguana yesterday, found on the access road to El Playazo beach near to El Chaparil school.

A passer by called the police after spotting the lizard which was then taken back to the police station. The iguana was then passed on to the Centre For Endangered Species who confirmed that the reptile was not in fact endangered, so the iguana was then taken to the vets in the hope that the owner could be found.

The iguana is now being cared for by a local resident who owns a number of other lizards, until the owner comes forward to claim their iguana back
