Organisers of this years Dia Del Pedal are hoping to attract even more participants than last year’s record number, when 2,374 people took part in this annual cycling event around the town.

Now in its 26th year, thousands of people in Nerja will get on their bikes and follow a course through the town.  This is a fun day and all participants will receive a special T-shirt, refreshments and be entered into a draw to win prizes. The start and finish of the course is on the Balcon de Europa.

There are always special awards each year for the most original bike and the oldest entrant. The number of entrants to this event have grown over the years, with just a few hundred taking part in the first event back in 1988.

The Dia Del Pedal 2013 in Nerja attracted nearly 2,500 cyclists who set off at midday to complete the course around the town. All ages were represented from small children being towed on miniature bikes by a parent to the more mature residents of Nerja.

People wishing to take part can register from the 20th of February onwards in the offices of the Consejo Municipal de Deportes in Calle Carlos Millón.
