Nerja Ayuntamiento have announced that from next week cars parked on the road at El Playazo beach (the westernmost beach in Nerja) will be issued with parking fines.
Every summer large numbers of people park on the roadway as this is the only beach in Nerja with such easy access for cars. In previous years notes have been placed on car windscreens advising people not to park there, but it seems that now this will be enforced with fines.
The council recently put up signs to advertise that there is free parking in the two car parks behind the beach. The signs also ask people not to park on the roadway itself and to leave it free for emergency vehicles.
