A group of young footballers, from the John Bauer School of Football in Malmö in Sweden have arrived in Nerja for two weeks of training. The team will be using the facilities at the Estadio Municipal Enrique López Cuenca football ground, near to the Supersol supermarket on the west side of town. The weather forecast for the next week in Malmö is between -7ºC and 0ºC, compared to the 17ºC maximum forecast in Nerja during the week.
The team members were all born in 1994 and consists of eleven boys and one girl. As part of their training here, the team are going to play matches against C.D. Nerja and also Torre del Mar’s club.
A Swedish athletics team are also due to train at the municipal stadium during the first week of 2013 and Nerja’s Sports Councillor says that many other foreign athletes will also be training in Nerja over the winter months.
