Nerja´s environment councillor, Nieves Atencia has announced that the track up to the Fuente del Esparto will not be closed this summer, unlike in previous years. The decision has been taken by the provincial department for Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment and will allow access to the hostal at the Casa de los Mineros and the merendero at El Pinarillo. An information board will be put up next to the existing barrier.
A new barrier will be installed at the entrance to the track to La Civila from the Fuente del Esparto road.
The track to the Fuente del Esparto starts just outside the entrance to the Nerja Caves, where there is also a parking area.
