Workmen are currently installing new low energy lighting along the promenade at Nerja’s Torrecilla beach as part of a €40,000 project to update the street lights in this area.
Once completed, forty street lights from Plaza Cangrejos to El Chucho beach will have been replaced with low energy LED units, which will use less than half the electricity currently consumed, whilst improving the coverage along the beach, including ten new beach floodlights.
This work follows on from improvements at Calahonda beach (next to the Balcon de Europa), where low energy lighting was installed, giving multi-colour light shows on the cliff face above the beach, along with new lighting along the footpath.
