About

Rut Montiel's BioCentro Madre Tierra (Mother Earth Bio Centre) on Calle Los Huertos in the centre of Nerja is a well established alternative health centre, offering yoga classes, massage, physiotherapy, health food and more. Rut is a qualified Physiotherapist, having obtained her degree from Barcelona's Gimbernat University (UAB). She has over fourteen years experience and is a registered member of the Andalucian Association of Physiotherapists.

Yoga

Rut lived in India and Thailand for two years, where she ventured deeper into her Yoga training at world recognized schools such as Bihar Yoga School and Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana. She has also trained in various forms of yogic and Buddhist meditation, healing systems such as traditional thai massage, ayurvedic massage and reiki. As well as being a teacher of Yoga Rut sees herself as a lifetime student and is currently studying at the Sadhana Yoga School in Spain.

Rut teaches Hatha yoga in Nerja and Frigiliana. Over time she has developed her own teaching style inspired by teachers such as Swami Niranjananda (Satyananda), Swami Digambarananda (Las claves del yoga), Carlos Fiel and Juan Carlos Márquez (Sadhana). Her classes are open to all levels and ages..
