Where have the previous owners from Los Cunaos gone ?? certainly not the same atmosphere/ service – and we have been using it for over 15yrs

I saw Juan and family in los cunaos as customers recently. If I understood him correctly he’s doing agricultural work at the moment. He said his family are much happier because he has more time for them and he’ll never have a bar again! Must say I’ve found the new owners pleasant tooand the tapas still good.

Thanks for this tapas trail. I would add Rincon del Sabor after los Cunaos.

Good suggestion. Rincon del Sabor is on Calle Ruperto Anduez, towards the bottom on the left and is a few minutes walk from Cuñaos.

The Taberna del Pescador was closed last October?

It is now open again as Bar Turry and is even better than the old Pescador

Travelling to Nerja in early March, looking forward to authentic Spanish tapas…are the trails a good idea or very touristy.

Yes, the tapas trails are a good way to try out a few different places. You can then keep going back to your favourites.

    Hi

I actually followed this tapas trail recently (Feb 2012) – I think some of these places are closed. Maybe just for the Winter? El Desvan looks permanently closed.

    Any other recommendations?

    • #15 by GingerHound on Tuesday 14th of February 2012 - Tuesday 14th of February 2012

Hi James, thanks for your comments. El Desvan is indeed shut (and looking for new management if anyone fancies running a bar in Spain). All the others on the tapas trail are open at the moment, although some do shut on Sundays (and El Pulguila was shut during January). Try Paco Mari on Calle Gloria, or head up Calle Cristo to The Taberna del Pescador and El Nino almost next door.

El Desvan has moved to Torrox Pueblo
