Eleven flights have been cancelled at Malaga airport today, due to a second week of industrial action by Iberia workers. The strike will last until the 8th of March and a further week long strike is planned from the 18th to 22nd of March.
The unions are also planning to hold a demonstration at Terminal 3 of the airport at noon today.
Nationally around 1,300 flights in total will be cancelled this week, consisting of flights from Iberia, Air Nostrum, Vueling and Iberia Express. Passengers who are booked to fly with those airlines should have been contacted by the companies concerned to make alternative arrangements.
The last week long strike on February 18th caused over 1,000 flights to be cancelled and affected the travel plans of around 70,000 passengers. Iberia claimed to have made alternative travel arrangements for 60,000 of the passengers affected and will be giving refunds to the remaining 10,000.
