The long running saga of the new marina for the area (on the Torrox side of the Nerja/Torrox boundary) has taken another step sideways, after the Councillor for Infrastructure at Nerja Council, Antonio García, complained that the Junta de Andalucia has not published the plans for the project as promised.

Back in February of last year (2012) the managing director of the Andalucian Public Ports Agency (APPA), the Provincial Delegate of Public Works and Housing and the mayor of Torrox announced (just before the regional elections) that the plans would be released within six months and put on public display from October. These dates have come and gone with no sign of any plans being made public, leading Councillor Garcia to remark that “the months have passed and we continue being in the same position as before, without news of the marina, without news of the basic project and without news from the Andalucian Public Ports Agency”.
