UPDATE: In true home cinema style, the showing of Ib Stenderup’s Super 8 films of Maro and its surroundings has been rescheduled for Monday the 28th of January after the bulb blew in the projector and a suitable spare could not be found.
On Thursday the 10th, 17th and 24th of January 2013, there will be screenings of old flims about Nerja and Maro, filmed in the 1950s, 60s and 70s at the Nerja Cultural Centre at 7pm. Entry is free.
The series starts on Thursday the 10th, with “Nerja ayer y hoy” (Nerja yesterday and today) by Foto Vídeo Som Cerezo and “El sol vive en Nerja” (The sun lives in Nerja) narrated by Matías Prats.
On Thursday the 17th “El tiempo vuela”, “NODO-Cueva de Nerja”, “NODO-Parador de turismo”, “Aquella Málaga” are showing along with an interview with Rafael Lafuente, the famous futurologist who lived in Nerja for many years until his death.
Finally on Thursday 24th some of Danish resident Ib Stenderup’s Super 8 films of Maro and its surroundings, dating back to the 1950s will be shown. Ib Stenderup arrived in Maro from Denmark in the early 60’s and used his Super 8 camera to document all the events that took place in the town and its surroundings, Read the rest of this entry »
