Axarquia Animal rescue are holding a country festival in Riogordo (which is around 34 miles from Nerja) on Sunday 14th of October (postponed from September due to the storms). Fun for all the family including dog show, handicraft competitions, Best cake and preserve classes and fun races for the kids to win ‘Olympic style’ medals. Gates open at 12pm and the party will continue until late into the night.

The dog show has twelve classes including two for obedience as well as classes for pedigree’s, crossbred’s, Best rescue dog, waggiest tail, child handler and fancy dress. There are some fantastic prizes on offer, as this part of the show is being sponsored by www.tiendanimal.com. The entry fee for each class is 5 euros and they will be giving a 5 euros voucher to be used in their online shop to every entrant. They are also giving a 50 euro voucher and a sack of dog food to every first prize winner and the Best in show. rosettes will also be awarded down to sixth place. Entries are from 1pm with judging starting at 2pm.
