Two men armed with shotguns, robbed a bank in Nerja today, Thursday 9th.
The robbery took place at 12.10pm (midday) at a branch of Unicaja on Calle Antonio Ferrandis ‘Chanquete’ (the street on the west side of Nerja that goes down towards Torrecilla past the Verano Azul park and the Supersol). The two robbers fled the scene in a car.
The car was found in Nerja an hour later by the Guardia Civil, who have taken over the investigation from the police.
A witness to the robbery called the emergency services on 112, who then informed the local and national police and ambulance service.
Two women, 49 and 43 years of age, had treatment at the scene for shock, but no other injuries have been reported.
