On Friday 25th of November, Nerja marked the 30th anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (in Spanish “El día contra la violencia de género”) with various events around the town, to pay their respects to the victims of gender violence and to call to an end to violence against women at the hands of their partners.
